The Indian Financial System Code (IFSC) is a unique 11-digit code assigned to each bank branch by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It is used to identify the branch for electronic payment systems like NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS.

  • Format: The first 4 characters represent the bank code, the 5th is always 0, and last 6 indicate branch.
  • Use: Required when transferring money online between banks in India.
